MEZAN RUM – Jamaica

We went shooting Jamaica for Mezan Rum during 10 days. We created a collection of 100 photos and 10 reels. We stayed true to the brand’s core DNA: unaltered rum. Our mission was to capture the essence of untouched, natural environments that mirror the pure and authentic spirit of Mezan. We ventured deep into Jamaica’s unspoiled landscapes, from dense jungles to pristine tropical rivers, to find the perfect backdrop that would tell the story of Mezan Rum’s origin and character.

At first, this shooting challenge was finding the right locations that truly embodied the essence of unaltered beauty. Jamaica’s lush jungles and secluded rivers were the perfect settings, but they were often remote and difficult to access. Identifying these spots required extensive research and a deep understanding of the island’s landscape, followed by meticulous logistical planning. We had to ensure that everything, from transportation to equipment, was perfectly coordinated to avoid disruptions.

The island’s tropical sun is both powerful and unpredictable, often casting harsh shadows and overexposing scenes if not handled carefully. To capture the natural beauty of the surroundings while staying true to Mezan Rum’s unaltered aesthetic, we had to be strategic with our timing and techniques. We planned our shoots for early mornings and late afternoons, when the light was softer and more diffused, allowing us to capture the lush landscapes and pristine rivers in their best light.
