HATOZAKI – Triple Cask

We conducted a photo and video shoot for the launch of Hatozaki’s new Triple Cask whisky, a product that undergoes a unique aging process in three different barrels, with one stage specifically in barrels previously used for ume, the traditional Japanese plum. The challenge was to create a compelling set-up in the barrel storage area in Akashi, Japan, a space that is fairly common and straightforward in appearance.

To make the product stand out, we focused on the rich characteristics of the Triple Cask itself. The ume aging imparts a beautiful, fruity color to the liquid, and the vibrant orange label complements this perfectly. This artistic setup used the whisky’s golden tones, the barrels, and the ume to create a visually striking scene that emphasized the product’s unique qualities while subtly nodding to its intricate aging process. We intentionally designed a triple arc composition, which was graphically appealing and subtly abstract, recalling the concept of the Triple Cask.
